New Year, New You - If your New Year’s resolution is to stop smoking or loose weight or just to lead a healthier lifestyle then get in touch, we could help you achieve those changes you want to make!! - walking groups, healthy eating cook and share sessions, group support for weight loss, smoking cessation etc… give us a call 01274 437650, we’re waiting…. Bowled over in West Bowling - Bradford Trident has been awarded £2,000 from the West Yorkshire Police Community Trust to work in partnership on a crime awareness pilot project. This will take the form of a 5 a side sports tournament in the early spring, workshops to explore the reality of what young people face day to day, and graffiti/design sessions. This evening event will be held at Parkside Sports Centre, over a period of 7 weeks. If you wish to sign up a team or find out more information ring Kammy or Tufail on 01274 437453 Befriending Project Training/ Induction course - If you know anyone who may like to volunteer to befriend an older person then please let us know as we might be able to get them onto the new befriending course. We are teaming up with many partners who work within in the area, community organisations, children’s centre’s, health workers, and many more to put on a wellbeing day, provisionally the 19th February to support ‘New Year, New You’. There will be lots of activities, stalls, health checks, fun and games as well as refreshments – keep your eye out for more information Christmas Party- once again, on December 20th, we brought lots of warmth, smiles, as well as a good Christmas meal, to 100 older people within the BD5 area of Bradford, supported by the Healthy Lifestyles Team, Dixons City Academy, Bradford Trident and over 20 volunteers from local schools. Young people looked after and entertained the older people who had ‘a rare old time’, one person said many were moved by their gifts and healthy hampers which they took home. ‘I’d like to thank everybody involved in it – they really worked hard,’ said Mrs D Miskell.
