What is the West Bowling Neighbourhood Action Group?
The West Bowling Neighbourhood Action Group is a group of local residents and workers who come together on a regular basis to help improve life in our community.
What is the aim of the group?
We aim to get local people involved and work alongside the council, police, the NHS and Education Bradford and other service providers to improve the delivery of services in the area. From our recent consultations with residents we updated our Action Plan which provides a clear focus of what, how, when and who should be responsible for making changes happen.
What we have done already.
- Directory Of Services for West Bowling.
- Improvements for the elderly such as fencing to secure flats from vandalism in the Darney Lane area.
- Helped fund play area on Emsleys Recreation Ground
- Funded local young people’s football team.
- Funded ESOL classes and exercise classes.
- Networking conferences for Neighbourhood Action Group members living in different boundaries of the BD5 area.
- Anti crime initiatives and anti crime events.

Groups like the West Bowling Neighbourhood Action Group play an important part in improving
the area and many services are recognising this. We believe volunteers are a key role in this
process and in return we hope to make the experience at the Marshfield Neighbourhood
